You are great at everything your draw.
Your technique shows so well. You can just see the hollowness of his stomach an those ribs showing just makes me sad.
Your scenery is lovely in the background.
Great presentation, thanks for sharing.

Artist? Nah..I'm just a lil ole cartoonist and illustrator. I don't tell what I feel what I draw. I just let the illustration speak for itself..wink . thanks for the great review

This is a very powerful commentary on the state of society today. Florida is supposed to be a paradise but I worked with children in high school who did not eat unless they were in school.

Like some others, I have avoided reviewing this, even though it is a very skillfully rendered illustration. The face and ribs are disturbing. I think I'm also bothered by the left arm's position, as it almost seems to be absent. The colors of the background are cheerful, almost idyllic in sharp contrast with the subject. Thank you for making us think.

every year on this topic contest , i enter those happy family style children but it never seems to get considered. so this time i bringing reality to the committee to see if i get their attention to a serious issue. so we will see but even if it does get ignored but at least i captured the viewers attention to think. before i was adopted at the age of 7 by my great uncle i did look like this child and do know how painful and hopeless it feels. so you can say its personal as well..wink. just remember my illustrations or cartoons will pull an emotion from ya. when i advertise my 19 music videos on Youtube.com ("mkflood presents") my statement is this..." some will make ya laugh...some will make ya think...some will make ya dance..some will even make ya cry..one thing for sure YOU WONT BE BORED!". if you havent checked out any them and have the time stop by youtube.com and do the search for "MKFlood Presents". they have wide range of music and the admission is free but you have to bring your own snacks..the flowers keep hiding mine..wink..lol. thanks for the great review.

Whew. I don't even know how to reply, other than to thank you again, this time for sharing your raw emotions. I'll have to check out your videos.

I think perhaps MK that I have been avoiding this piece....perhaps b/c I wasn't sure exactly what to say and that is not like me so here I am.

Definitely different from what I typically review of yours but done w/ the same wonderful eye for detail. Amazing colors and the child's face is memorizing. I am just blown away by how realistic it is and how sad and yet perfect your title is. Your 'in-your-face' presentation is exactly as it should be and I sincerely hope this post has prompted people who may never donate to help feed the hungry to do so. I've seen many images like this over the years from organizations I help butt they are NEVER easy for me to look at. This is so well done and, of course, timely...always and I'm glad I've finally sat down and reviewed it.

i know this is kinda new to ya but this is really my common work. the "Funnie Flowers" just got folks to notice me the past years but i never stray away from work like this and as always i do everything with sharpie and bic pens. ya get a chance go to Youtube.com under "MKFlood Presents" and you see numerous of this kinda work. out of my over 800 drawings only a lil over 300 is cartoons. so you can see this kinda work is really normal for me but i do like to make folks to smile and laugh. wink. thanks for the awesome review.

Your colouring is absolutely stunning: especially the way you have painted the starving child. A sad story this one will make. I love those little details you so precisely draw and paint. Bravo! I wish I had a six to give you.!

Difficult to view, difficult to review ... but we must view, and we must review! Well drawn to relay a critical issue within our world and our society! Colors of super contrast ... meaning??? Rich in contrast ... to poor .... The expression ... of hope, but poverty and starvation clear. "Help me!" Palm trees, green fertile leaves ... yet, starvation .... Theme well drawn ... contrasts evident! Am I willing to do a little ...?

As a small child I hung in the alleys near restaurants waitimg to throw out trash and leftovers. I was so proud of finding a ham bone with Lotta meat on it. It was feast. Later at the age of 7 my great uncle uncle adopted me amazed that no matter what food was put in front of me I ate it. I was never picky..wink. Thanks for the great review
