Wow! This is a stunning landscape good camera techniques and post-processing changing to a HD. Your tonal range is spectacular and makes this black and white a excellent choice and does look like Ansel Adams photography. Perfect framing and a good depth of field. So much beauty found in this black and white scene. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing!

First of all it is a great composition slightly and appealingly off center with perfect depth and perspective. Technically clear and well detailed with perfect lighting which makes the conversion to B&W such a huge success . The tribute to Ansel Adams is appropriate and with accolades to you for a superb contest entry.

Without doubt a real god landscape photo, what strikes me is colour would make this stand out,but using b/w has made more of the richness of the different tones/contrast in thiswell good photo...brian

I am in awe of anyone who excels at landscape photography (YOU) because it's really challenging. Your black and white rendition of Yosemite has so many interesting tones of white and black, and your careful focus always make your photos a pleasure to review.

Now this is just stunning Paul....and I am not even a huge fan of B&W but this is just beautiful.

Crisp crisp crisp focus....lol. The detail in that distant mountain is amazing. There's a lovely range of tones....I bet this is absolutely gorgeous in color?? It is framed perfectly....wow did you stand in the correct spot....and that sky just is the icing on the cake. It's a perfect entrant for this contest.

Your heartfelt notes are so touching....I often feel that way myself. Definitely a well considered and beautifully executed shot. You really shine w/ these kinds of images. Worth more than my paltry five stars....EASILY! I bet it does really well in the contest Paul.

Deborah

This is a fabulous tribute to Ansel Adams. It does the master full justice, so do not humble yourself. It even dos not look like a converted color photo, but like one of those old prints. I like especially how you have composed this. The wide view over the flat land to the mountains and woods in the background is intriguing. The mountains and trees growing up curving to both sides, is like a frame for the beautiful sky and the tops of the mountains far away.

A fitting tribute to the master.

Camera settings are super.

One of the advantages of Adams' system was his ability to stop down to f/64. That what gave his takes that beautiful even long scale contrast though out his takes.

High detail from excellent focusing.

The composition is well framed and presented with great impact.

Well done ... B-)) Bob

This is fine piece of Photography. This demonstrates how one can find beauty even in some hostile places in this world. The black and white image gives it the right mood. Well done.
