a very nice close up with the usual discreet sophisticated bg;; very sharp focus on the yellow pistils;
I grow one in my garden, witout any protection in winter: and I even get small edible fruits;

Oh I really like the textured background you've used here av....and the background colors....just a gorgeous combination.

Focus on the blossom is good...seed heads at the center are excellent....such good detail there. Blossom color is outstanding and whites are spot on. Exposure good throughout. When I first looked at this piece av I thought it was just a tad unbalanced....too much space in upper right corner but after studying it for a few more minutes I think it might just be me...lol. It's a lovely image of this stunning red/orange blossom. Glad you got to see them this year while you were in Greece.

Looks like a mix between an oil painting and a photograph. The background has a great backlight, as if there's a candle nearby. The colors blend very well together, especially on the petals.

I know these flowers, they are small, but, unique, and you made the unique background behind. The leaves of the tree are disappearing slowly behind the flower, and make the picture look like 3D image. brownish colors give the expression of the antique painting. Thanks for sharing.

i do like how you give a slight hint of the red color on the right background. does enhance the flower. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the flower is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall
