So much beauty in your scene with the hills and the mountains in the background drawing you into this scene. Beautiful capture of the mist in your scene and nice leading lines. I see you decided to leave the wire across your scene...it is storytelling in this scene and respect your decision to do so. Your good choice of aperture and sharp focus complimenting your photography. This is very nice work and thanks for sharing!

Your fine, comprehensive and detailed review is much appreciated! Left the wire in to show that technology had even reached this wild place!!

It's not easiest to capture fog effectively in a photo, and this one has done that. Good colours, but still keeps that feel of greyness in the weather.

Such wonderful power in the misting! Your lighting is natural to the scene and the colors perfection. The statement of the wire across the screen is a perfect one - has me wondering just how long the grand natural environment has! Great capture with a great message. Thanks for sharing.

I do appreciate your kind review! In fact you are the first reviewer to correctly pick up on why I left the wire in!! It was retained to show that technology had reached even the wilds of western Ireland.

Excellent image and wonder who stood here on this very spot hundreds of years ago. Enjoy the stream entering into the small lake and wonder if there are Trout in the water. Everything sharp revealing all the lush greens and low lying clouds. Thank You for sharing.

A post from the Emerald Isle and you didn't think I would see that wee little leprechaun in the corner there, did you....no?

I checked your horizon line as it looked tilted BUT it is not.

You have nice lead lines into the image but there really isn't a strong anchor point is there? That doesn't make it a bad thing, it just makes the image a tad weak as we want to be wowed by it.

I do think the balance is nice with the outcropping of green and how the mist in the mountains echoes the colours of the waters and your point of view is smack on the money.

Now about that wire.

You are going to have people telling you to clone it out, yet , as the creator of this piece you have chosen to keep it in. Do you not think it destroys the equanimity of this idyllic scene? Would this photo be stronger without it? I personally think it interferes with the beauty of the scene. It also tells a story of human habitation . Although this is a quiet idyllic scene we know that just around the bend there is , no doubt, a rowdy group singing Whiskey in the Jar.

Very many thanks for your detailed and comprehensive review! I left the wire in to show that technology had reached even this part of Connemara.

Looks like there has been lots of rain and the air turning cooler. I like the lighter greens surrounding the water leading to the darker greens with the mist coming in. But I find the wire totally distracting.

I imagine this as being a morning time photo with the air still humid and the ground still moist from the dew. You make me wish I were actually there to experience it. Nice image.

I like how the fog shows at the top of the mountain, the line across the front is a little distracting but the water in the foreground is a nice lead into the foggy area.

Makes sense - what a shame for the landscape :) But we learn to ignore them!

I just love the name...Connemara..and your capture depicts exactly what my imagination is of a place I have hopes to visit some year. Your colors are true to nature and your capture of the moisture in the air tells the story perfectly...as do your light and shadows. And yet you have excellent clarity in this exposure. The contrast between the two...the mist and the clarity has taken me to this scene through your photo. Thank you for sharing. Excellent work!
