This certainly looks like a well kept up / tranquil environment to spend some time. I'm always amazed at how some are able to make ordinary scenes simply pop with appeal. I think what really works well in this shot Annie is the light wood emerging from the water that seems to share the same likeness in light with the dried floral arrangement on the roof. The image is also very balanced in scenery as well as natural color. Very attractive. Kathy

Lovely photo detailes are quite amazing and the light and shades created on the wall are caught on the work, this place that was caught on the photo must be so lovely it shows a wonderfull rustic romantic place.well done.

Okay, or a cheap science fiction novel I purchased at the airport!
The little red flowers punctuated by the reflections and the glass really take you into the photo.
It feels like you are standing right there in the image.

Your second place looks as interesting as your first. It seems not only buildings got restored there, but some interior as well. The wood in front looks like a part from an old gondola and the vase behind the glass looks old too. It is interesting how old and new, the man-made feature and the nature seem to complement each other. It is also hard to say what is reality and what reflection, but all floats together into a wonderful view captured in an unusual and intriguing photo. I appreciate the natural colors and the adequate framing as well as the balance of space and light.
