A beautiful, brilliantly taken photograph from a fantastic vantage point and with brilliant timing, catching a very impressive sunset on the horizon over the clear blue lake, albeit for a couple of sailboats enjoying the last of the afternoon, and providing good contrast for the piece. The long DOF and tall framing work excellently. From the ripples of the water right past the white boat and smaller multicoloured boat, and onto the hazy zone where the water meets the horizon and changes to a wonderful light pink colour, slowly ascending into faint yellow and then the light blue of the clear sky, with the full moon raised high above to the right. Brilliant clarity throughout, this really is a wonderfully composed and positioned shot that represents all that there is about photography being an artform - methodically layered by mother nature and a few sailors, offering the chance for somebody in that moment in time to capture it's detail - which you did with superb precision. Great work, well done :)

Lovely shot here. Nice exposure and beautiful colors. I like the tall crop, it makes for an unusual and unique composition. The light on the sailboat is beautiful.

a lovely warming image,
I like the graduation of colour in the sky which compliments the blues in the calm sea, I like the placement of the boats in the frame and think the vertical framing works well, the moon adds interest and is well balanced in the scene, very well done. lovely.

Thank you very much for the great review! The sun was setting and the full moon was rising when I took this photo. I was on a beach on the shore of Lake Michigan.
