The capture of the fog in this is magnificent. Beautiful perspective and detail and I love the black and white.
The softness that the fog gives this shot is natural and only amplified by the excellent detail in the trees. Well done and best of luck in the competition.

Has good initial impact. Really captures the changing weather scene. Well composed with good contrast. A very good example of how con converting a picture to black and white can have dramatic effect. Nicely done edits.

I always have trouble capturing fog. This is how it is done. A beautiful shot with great composition and a fine tonal range. Best of luck in the contest.

I love scenes with fog! This works well in the B&W, it's well focused , good tonal variations, good contrasts, well composed allowing us a view showing your perspective near the trees in the fore, I love the fog on the trees in back . Well presented!

Dramatic foggy capture!
Misty atmosphere is one of the hardest conditions to capture impressively...
Now, this one is an exception as the smoky overtone seem to subside leaving a sharper surrounding.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks & good luck at the poll booth...

wow,, that looks cold out there. thanks for sharing this magical black and white view of a cold and foggy morning. The trees in the foreground on both left and right provide a nice border for your scene and give good depth of view as I look between them to the foggy island of trees in the background. The mist over the water and the ice partly melted on its surface add to the beauty.. The dark patch of earth on the banks of this river , contrast well with eh bleak tones of the water beneath. A pleasing scene to review . thanks for sharing and very best of luck in the contest. cheers mel

A fabulous entry for the contest. You have offered such wonderful strength in the exposure - great lighting over that fog with such fabulous strength and perfection in the shadows. There is perfection in the focus as well offering up a great natural moment. Thanks for sharing. Good luck!

I love this scene.... Your rendering this is B&W is a dramatic choice.... well done. And your contrast is perfect...with the silhouettes of the trees giving a strong point of view. I like that very much as I can imagine standing here with you.

The fog is very well captured.. Not always an easy feat. And the ice on the lake is amazing. Whites are controlled and horizon is level..not causing any confusion on my geometric psyche. I love the trees on the left. Their sharp details in their lacy branches is lovely and a perfect accent to the smooth and spacious area of gray and whit. The shoreline running diagonal at the bottom is perfection! A cyber six on this one. Best of luck in this contest! A winner in my book!

Another weather related post (just reviewed one) and yours here is excellent!

B&W conversion has really added some impact to your image (and I am not typically even a fan of B&W) But your piece is well composed....lots of great detail...exposure is spot on and you've presented the rising fog perfectly.

Well done all the way around. I's a fine entrant for the Jan. Open. Best of luck to you.
