Beautiful piece of art, as well as a meaningful memory for you. He reminds me very much of our cat that we recently lost, right down to the bright green eyes. I think you have done a very good job of capturing the beauty, character and spirit of the cat. I think the background around the head could have been just a little lighter so that he stood out a bit more. There is such wonderful detail in the fur and whiskers with very fine strokes, and at least in the photograph of the picture some o that is getting lost. The medium helps in the fineness of the picture.

Very well done. Composition, color and impact all very good. Maybe would have liked a little contrast. Color seems a bit muted, or flat. Being a cat owner, I know you have done an excellent job of drawing the little details. Nicely done.

The usage of pastels works marvellously on this post for it has a dreamy quality through and through .
The eyes, well actually, the whole painting is done well in detail but the eyes seem to glow.
In photography we have a glow filter that I like to use and this is what your art feels like, glowy.
I think your dimensional proportions, the space between the eyes, the ears, the nose to whiskers and body in the background have been well rendered with good realistic precision.
Furthermore, you used a ceruleum blue or teal shade to add to the overall glow.
Suzanne, I do have some bad news for you....I have no more 6 stars left so you will have to place this Cyber 6 into your basket.
It's nice to see your art. I haven't stumbled upon your work for sometime now, mind you I've been off the site.

I've only been posting this year since my daughter and grandson returned to Australia at the end of January - they were with me for two months which was wonderful but we were so busy doing other things that there was hardly any time (or room, as I live in a small bungalow!) to paint. Suzanne

Hi Suzanne, well you certainly have captured Spider in a most appealing way. What a fabulous job you've done creating her beautiful face with Pastel chalks and pastel pencils.. The brush strokes rendering his dark brown coat of fur look very realistic. I love the shading around his eyebrows and forehead.. and beneath his nose area.. They really bring out his features well and give him charm and personality. His ears, with the same lighter shadows look striking . Spider's eyes are brilliant. You really have captured his soul .. rendered in yellowish tones with the brown pupil and the touch of white to add reflection make him come to life. He appears to be staring intently at something with a very concentrated expression around his mouth. Nicely rendered fine whiskers add to his beauty .. Great choice of background colour which provides a nice contrast to his fur tonings without distracting from the central image. Thanks for sharing Spider and his story. I adore black cats. I have two of them :) This one looks adorable! You have done such a nice job on the eyes and whiskers. The ears and the fur look really good too. I think this might be your best kitty painting that I have seen, or maybe I am too partial to black cats :) Either way this is excellent work.
