I like the closer crop of the Abby and the way you have framed it. The architecture and colors stand out so nicely. The hillside trees fill the negative space with a gorgeous texture richness.

You pick up just fine time of the year, to get such beautiful contrast between the bright green background and the grey 'castle' in front. Perhaps a bit more space at the left border, so we can see the whole building.

OMG! Very nicely captured. I love the old architecture buildings like that. they have such an elegant and old looking feel to them. Very nice to look at. I'm glad you shared this. It's hard to explain how this picture makes me feel. I just really like it. A "WOW!" picture for me.

Wow, this is great. I love the way you shot this incredibly interesting piece of architecture nestled among the green hillside. Initial impact is great thanks to your placement of the focal point. Your ratio of green to white is spot on. Good lighting, framing and all around good technique.

The overall first impression I a beautiful scene of a large dwelling in a huge forest on a shore. While they are all individually beautiful I think a more attractive scene would've to allow one of the components to dominate. This can be achieved by changing the size and brightness of that component. So may I suggest radical cropping of the Forrest enlarging the dwelling so that it dominates the images and increase the exposure and contrast

Oh my what an amazing building, mansion, abbey set amongst the greenery of trees. Looks quite isolated and dramatic. Very good focus and clarity. Nicely composed with great lighting to show the details. Well captured.

Nik,
A Beautiful picture of Kylemore Abbey on the shore of Lough Pollacappul & surrounded on the other side by native deciduous trees & behind it out of view a restored Victorian Garden. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Wow! What a wonderful photograph of the Abbey. This just sparks the imagination as to who lives/
lived there and what went on in history. It is so well preserved. Do you know how old this abbey is?
A great, great shot!

Very many thanks for your nice review and that big 6! The building was originally constructed as a castle in 1867. It was converted into an Abbey in the 1920's.
