This is a great view of that wingspan and the wing feathers. The light in the head and face brings out those colors nicely and the reflection looks good too.

Your use of the golden hour sunset colors/light are superb here Mike. You captured the Famous pose of this rare egret using its wings to lure fish in. Your focus is sharp on the wing we see on the right but soft on his head and wing we see on the left.
The reflection is the bonus here.
Nice work...Good Luck.

what a fantastic shot of this egret trying to lure fish into the shadow it's wings are casting.Focus is excellent, each outstretched feather in beautiful sharp detail against the darker waters beneath.Love the capture of this bird's reflection. What a fantastic entry for the contest-best of luck! :)

Thank you very much. I went out onto a pier to shoot the sunset and when I turned to leave there was this reddish egret. The light was quite low and definitely on the warm side. This is the only shot of him with his wings spread that I got and it is one of my favorites. Glad you like it too. Thanks again.

Mike,
A beautiful picture of the Reddish Egret performing it's "fishing dance" wings out-spread to provide shadow on the water so it can see any fish swimming beneath the surface. It's reflection distorted by the ripple so it looks like some "Exotic work of Art". the sunshine lighting up it's wings so we could if we'd time count every flight feather! Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Thank you very much. I had gone out to the end of a pier to photograph the sunset and when I turned around there was this reddish egret along with a great blue fishing in the shallows. The light from the setting sun was quite red and created a warm glow on the water. Glad you like it; it is one of my favorites from Florida. Thanks again.

Quite a nice entry into your competition presented here! Your full and central composition offers us a very enjoyable view of your bird and it's reflection. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done and good luck!

This is just beautiful to view! It's a dance and it's a reflection, it's clear and a beautiful pose, it's a low light capture but the details are so easy to see! I love the way the light shows his eye! Very nice work!

What a stunning image Mike. The detail in his wings are beautiful. I love the dark water as a canvas. The reflection really makes this a special shot. Although the focus on his wings is spot on, his face is a tad out of focus. Overall, a really beautiful shot and a worthy entry for this contest. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much. I went out on a dock to shoot the sunset when this reddish egret came into the shallows behind me. The low sun gave it a warm glow. Very glad you like it. Thanks again.

Oh wow, absolutely fantastic entry for the contest... action perfectly captured! Almost a sixer for me but I personally need just a tiny bit more light my friend!!! The focus is perfection, colors fantastically natural as well. I really wish I could have views of this type of action and get such a grand shot. Thanks for sharing. Good Luck!
