This shot was well worth the wait. It is a spectacular wildlife action image. I love the swish of the wet feathers on the breast of the bird. I have often wondered about the dark spot of feathers at the center of the wings. I now see that it is like a mini wing on top of the larger wing.

Willie,
A beautiful stop action picture of this Great Blue Heron at the second it caught the fish & was preparing to swallow it, the wings outspread for balance the light glistening off the fish & the water. Beautiful composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & fast exposure freezing all movement giving sharp focus.
