You have indeed captured the reflections well with this photo, and I also like the pose from the bird. It almost looks like it is trying to look at himself in a mirror. It is also a fine shine to be seen in the water.
Your photo is sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bird. It is nothing wrong with the exposure either.
The photo is nicely cropped and the bird has got such a fine placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

This is a very pleasing scene with the sof5 light and the mirror reflection in the nearly still waters. I like that you must surmise the sky from the reflections in the water. The bird looks as though he is ready to strike his prey at any moment.

Superb composition with an artistic angle to the log which almost splits the scene perfectly and off center positioning of the heron. Perfect eye focus. All topped off by that wonderful reflection. Another nice photograph of yours. It should fair well in the contest as it is quite lovely. The blue heron is gently walking on the tree log and is framed in a pleasing composition. His body and feathers are nicely focused and reflected back into the water. Looks like a painting. Good luck in the contest.
