What a beautiful piece! I like the story of how it was created. There are endless ways and options to create art. I love the bright whites of the highlights. It adds depth and the textures are amazing. I love working with pastels and what you have created with them. Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest!! :D

This is quite an exceptional piece of creative artistry. You artist's notes spell out everything perfectly and I just really applaud you in all the things you have done to create this look. It is simply lovely. A pleasure to view, not only once but several times. Excellent still life, even though it is only two items. So many artists insist on having three at least. I say NO. They tend to want an odd number yet they prefer a dozen red roses...a dozen...that is not odd, is it. Having the flower in the pitcher could be the third item if they were being critical in that aspect. I like it just the way it is. I also like how you made the background like a wooden door with the square (more like rectangle but we cannot see that part) framing your subject of the still life. Beautiful shades of white.
Definitely in the top three of this contest. All the best to you. Thanks for sharing. IMPRESSIVE!!!

What a cool work of art and a Great entry for the contest. To be honest, and a 'Never will be any kind of artist' type of person, your explanation of All those things you did to create this made my head swim. So much so that i had to go and mix a rum and coke just to collect my thoughts. Ah, much better now. This is definitely unique and I do wish you all the Best in the contest ~ Steve

Lol. 'Soco' was our favorite in college. Enjoy.

I think you have created exactly what you intended to do. You have done it wonderfully. I agree with you that since white has no pigment it does show flat. You have managed to definitely give depth to your piece.
A nice contest contender I wish you the best of luck.

Simple and nice, soft for the view. Background looks framed, and give the expression that the composition is filled with air. light shades building the shape of subjects. Pretty attractive piece.

I like this for the wonderful monotone values and positive versus negative space.
The frame within frame gives it an illusion of depth.
The rough brush strokes and shading make for a nice result.
Great job.

Lovely painting in white tones and shades of white. Very pretty still life in realistic form. I like how you boxed the back ground in two tones giving depth to the painting.Thank you for the artist notes. Lovely and good luck in the contest.

I think your experiment turned out pretty good I like the whites lots of time people don't understand that whites are usually a lot of different colors and you have done a fine job here

This is a beautiful white on white still life artwork. The beige frame around the vase and pumpkin frame it and add to the composition. The vase and pumpkin are nicely placed in the artwork. The shadows and highlights are well done. Overall, this is a pleasing artwork to view.

apt for the contest and presented very well with a good structure and nice composition. I would like to have seen more tonal use ,particularly darker tones to give this subject a little more depth but generally a nice piece in my opinion
