You have indeed captured this Sandhill Crane well Grace, and especially the yellow shiny eye. It is also very nice with the greens as a background, and with the top nicely softened the bird is standing out in an excellent way.

Your photo is pin sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is spot on. I also appreciate the nice and natural colors.

The format and framing is perfect and the bird well placed off to the left. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Great shot here. Superbly captured crane just cruising along. I hear a song in my head for some reason!
The lighting is spot as is the depth of field.
Well done.

What a fantastic capture of this crane that looks incredibly tall!
I love seeing its full form and wonderful color. The detail in this crane is beautiful and crisp for what looks like a shot captured of it walking!
Very nice Grace! A real pleasure to see.

Thank you , cause I did not know ....
The oldest living species ..
It's a very cool shot in the vertical format . You had no choice ? He appears to be at least 4 1/2 " .
It's a wonderful piece and as always , keep shooting !

Thank you very much for the six stars :) You are right, he is tall. I think he's around five feet! The female is slightly shorter.

Walking tall, high & proud!
Chin up, breast out, stomach in! Smart stance. Aristocratic countenance.

Verdant overtone!
Natural colors despite the low lit condition.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

Your excellent photo gives us a great look at this Sandhill Crane! You have captured a great pose and beautiful colors. I also enjoyed your narrative. I didn't know that cranes were that old.
