You have captured this bird in flight so well Linda, and especially the stop action is very good. I also like the nicely softened background, because it makes the bird stand out in an excellent way.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is good.
The way you have cropped the photo works well and the bird has got a good placement off to the left giving the bird room to fly into. A lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Blue herons are absolutely marvelous creatures, aren't they? Man, you're an awesome photographer. Capturing animals in motion without them looking blurry takes real skill and you've done so perfectly.

OOOoo... What a weird, cool color. I don't think I've seen birds that are that color before. Very cool. It's like a smoky grey, and the black legs. Very clear picture, you can see all the detail in it's feathers, wow. Where ever its heading, he looks serious!! Very nice capture, thank you for sharing!! :D
