WOW! Mike, You really captured this dragon or damsel fly. The eye is a super blue. The whole dragonfly has super focus! Love how you can see the veins in the wings and the segments trailing down the body. Love the lighting and how the dragon fly stands out from the blurred background. SO deserving of six stars. A real pleasure to view!Great SHOT! :o) Helvi

Thank you very much. I have been away teaching bridge at a summer camp but I just had to get away from the kids and the camp food for a couple hours. I am very glad you like this one and will be back to posting more regularly next week. Thanks again.

This is a great shot full of good detail and color. I like the brilliant shade of blue. The pattern in the wings stands out nicely along with the fine hairs on along the legs.

There is something absolutely incredible about this picture. The clarity and the framing are perfect . The blurred background allows us to see the one leaf and its visitor in a special way. But I think the beauty is mostly in the detail in the insect and the fact that you have it in its entirety in center stage. The wings are awesome! What a picture . It can rival National Geographic.

Thank you very much. One afternoon last week I decided to spend 3 hours shooting nothing but dragonflies. At first I was happy just to see one, but soon I was looking for the lighting and the setting. I am lucky to live on the shore of a little lake and so they are quite common. Glad you like this one. Thanks again.

"Blue Dasher" has an amazing photo quality that makes it seem like you can just reach out and touch this dragonfly. Truly astonishing capture.

This is really a gorgeous capture of this dragonfly. A
beautiful entry for the blue contest, with incredible detail and pretty blue color.
What I love about this shot is also the light above and to the right of its head. It gives it such an artistic appeal
and really draws the viewer in to see the wonderful color and detail. Great entry! Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you very much. Last week I spent one afternoon trying to photograph dragonflies. At first I was just happy to get a shot of one, but with a bit of experience I started looking for the light and the settings that would make them better. Glad you like this one. Thanks again.

Good luck in the contest. This is a well captured image of a colorful dragonfly. The blue really pops. Good focus overall. You might try pulling down the white spot at the top, it really pulls the eye up and away from the shot. Very well seen and should do well in the contest.

I love dragonflies and damselflies. This image of the blue dasher is terrific. I like the light reflections on its blue compound eye. The purple tones on its chest are lovely and the segmented blue tail is delightfully detailed. You even captured the complex veining of its double cellophane wings.

I don't like to give out my 6's on a Sunday when I first get them....but, I can't help myself. This is an amazing shot!!! It deserves way more than a 6. That bug is super sharp and detailed. It is a bug that I never saw that close up. I love everything about it.

Thank you very much. One afternoon I gave myself the assignment of shooting dragonflies. At first I was just happy to get one but after a bit of practice I began to pay attention to the light and the setting more. Glad you like this one. Thanks again.

The exceptional clarity of the photo goes to the photographers knowledge of how to photograph an object that rarely stays still for long. The subject is as it should be: front and center of the picture. The background is slightly blurry making the dragonfly more visible. Well done.
