I love the way the flower comes out of the white square and into the black one. It gives it some depth. Nice signature pretty pinks, purples oranges and greens. Nicely presented and composed. Love the loose brushwork.

I think the black background makes the floral colors really pop and jump off the page. Extending parts of the flowers and the leaves outside the frame creates an attractive three dimensional appearance. Your shading to the flowers looks nice too.

I love the Poppies. They are very special to us. My Great-Grandpa was in WWII and we buy the poppies to support our veterans as often as we can.
You have done a great job with them.
I like how you have some of them and he leave lapping over your black framing.
Great piece, thanks for sharing.

I like this a lot, clever use of black. I use a lot of black paper, so I thought that was it, but using india ink is clever, and ofcourse it will have a sheen too as you say. The delicate colours and shapes are superb with the black surround.

This is a beautiful piece Linda. The peach and pink poppies look soft and pleasing to the eye. The lighter leaves add to this. I like how the poppies extend out of the frame creating a 3 dimensional feel. The black frame worked out to your benefit. Thanks for all of your artists notes. Great job!

Linda, your framed Poppies are beautiful. I love your soft touch of pastel colors throughout each and every petal and throughout the flowers.

Your black frame makes this sing from the page.

I also love how you broke free of the black frame with flowers so wild, they could not be contained.

Wonderful job!

Linda, the flowers are well done and pleasantly painted. The colors are soft but full of variety and flow well from one to another. Your control of the medium is well handled. I am reserving my thoughts on breaking into the frame, perhaps if it was a different color I would like it better, but the black is so harsh it bothers me. Thank you for sharing this image.

Thank you so very much, Charles. I was gong to go light ghetto but I decided the black would provide a sharper contrast to the softness.

It is an artistic choice. I just feel it is very heavy
