I like the way you caught the light shining on the wings and how it brings out the pattern. The antennae and fuzz on the head stand out very well too.

Camera technique is well established with a shallow DOF that focuses sharply of the Bee.

The background colors have blended into a smooth texture Bokeh.

Extremely well focused - can count individual hairs on its back.

The wing veins are clear and well defined.

The slightly off center placement of the subject in the frame is attractive and commands your attention.

Another good one ... B-)) Bob

Composition and framing are well done. Focus and depth of field are very good. Details in the wings of the fly are excellent. Colors and lighting are good.

The lavender is beautiful and the bee is well located on it. I really like the background but think there is too much of it on the right side. Great pastel colors.

Everyone has great photos today and I have no more 6's until Sunday.
I love that your photo is so clear that we can see all of the little hairs on his body, and all of the details on his wings. It's like you are using a microscope.
The lavender is so pale and pretty.
Nice depth of field and such a clear photo.
Great shot, shows your talent. Thanks for sharing.

Fred,
A beautiful picture of this male/drone Bombus Lapidarius ~ Red tail Bumble bee sucking nectar from the Lavender {he has Reddish tail & a yellow stripe behind his head (the stripe & no pollen baskets on his back legs tells me it's a male) } Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A good nature shot presented here! We have been seeing this going on in our garden for a while now. Your nice composition conveys in good style the essential action. Think the brightness is just a little strong. Otherwise good photo!
