this is a very fine construction. very nicely pieced together and fab to see it win the all time best award. there are so many delightful details in this one picture and it has your trademark magical and mystical feel. at first i thought the brackish horse was a unicorn, as part of the fence was close to his forehead. with all of your work (and this one in particular), you can get lost in a type of dream world. is very pleasant though to view and the further you look, the more it conveys a wild, fantastic scene. in british horse racing there is an old phrase called "off the bridle", when the said horse is under pressure and being ridden along. you can tell the horses that are progressing if still "on the bridle". but you can easily tell by the motion of the jockey.

Thank you so much Mr.Jones! The truth be told, this is my favorite of my graphic efforts. I wanted to do a video of the real strawberry roan to the great western song, but got derailed by other projects. This is a link to my favorite humorous western song about my strawberry roan by my favorite old time western singer!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_yfmKMK4mo The lyrics are just priceless!! Thank you so much for mentioning the pole that looks like it is coming out of the horse's head -- I fixed it months ago and uploaded the corrected image, but this is the old one!! Confusing. I will fix it shortly I hope -- had my computer hacked and it crashed badly today -- then it has been raining trojans so I have to keep rebooting the computer for the security to quarantine them. I bought a very costly service with this computer to deal with the fact that I seem to have been targeted for years by hackers -- cost me the rest of the money my cousin sent me! PFah!! They installed yet another security program and all has been quiet for a while now. Thank you so much again! Later, Daphne Oberon

I updated High Dive Farm here and I am sending you the correct version with the pole reversed! It is a large file so will arrive with the large file sending service, WeTransfer. The trojans have stopped arriving and my new computer is working fine again. I hope this rest-bite lasts. I bought a year of the services... the point is that although expensive, they are genuine and reliable services. The question is how determined my attackers are. I have nothing they could want -and a nearly flat bank account. It is sheer vindictiveness from somewhere... A while back -- I might have told you -- I was under attack by a network the CIA was investigating that shut down a power plant in the state of Colorado among other exploits. At one point, I wanted to take an online course on becoming a cyber security technician, but could not keep a computer running for long enough. That was a few years ago, but I learned quite a bit even so from the course before giving up... I have better things to do these days though... Back to my video. Did you get the mp3 of the Azulejo Ballad my English girlfriend wrote, and were you able to listen to it? She is finishing a new recording, but has had trouble with a node her throat -- if its not one thing it is another... You take care! Daphne

I reviewed that strange image of Steve's, iphone 7 -- if you haven't seen it, check it out! Also, look up my review of his post if you like... It might just be some piece of exploding sattelelite, but my hunch is that this is not quite what a falling piece of satellite debris would do... at some point I will have to share with you the rest of my experiences -- mine are not for public consumption though for sure!!.. enjoy! Wonderfully original and entertaining entry for the contest. Lots to look at and lots of action all with good perspective and appealing digital rendering. He bucking horse and rider make a fantastic center of attention. Best of luck in the contest.

I enjoy your stylistic art.

At first look the impression I get is that it is simplistic, yet studying the image closely I realize it is anything but simplistic. I like the graduated tones of the sky and the shadowing and lighting on the horses and rider. Very nice.

Thank you so much!! Your generous review means a lot! I've been away from FAR for a while and was not up to date with your photography, so I looked it up just now and sure love the terrain in your area! I love your birds, bison eye, and the fishing craft in the last photo interests me because it looks like it must have been made the same year as my father's boat Shelikof, an old ocean going tug that once hauled barges across the Bering Straits, some of which were called Shelikof. I follow "supergold" and Dale and they post so much it is not easy to keep up with their reviews! Thanks again and I promise I will take time to look over and admire your work some more! Thank you very much for your kind, positive review of both my horse graphics. I like my horse art best because the graphics are based to some extent on a large portion of my past. I don't really know what color the horses in Blue Roan really are, as it is more or less a black horse with white mane and tail. I saw a stunning, well conformed horse like this in Baja in the early 1960's, but since it also had white hairs in its coat, it was called a blue roan. The trouble with that is that a blue roan is usually a pretty unflattering color. Generally speaking, except for selected geographical areas, the horses in Baja are of rather poor, common quality. But in those days the big cattle ranchers controlled the breeding of their best horses with amazing results. I wrote a book I never promoted because I wanted to change the name to one that would be better recognized on the Internet, and also edit the Spanish, but the old book is still available with Outskirts Press, under the title, AZULEJO, which means blue roan. Who knows, in the end maybe I will keep the title and just edit the Spanish... A friend of mine wrote music to the screenplay of this book, but I have not been able to get any producers seriously interested in it so far -- oops no, I forgot, I did a few years back. The director of the blockbuster film, 2012, Roland Emmerich, considered changing the main character to a German immigrant and producing this in Germany, but the first financial endowment from the Bavarian Endowment for the Arts never came through. On top of that, I could not afford a literary properties attorney and could see the whole project getting taken away from me and my never getting paid... long story... Anyway, Azulejo is still available in paperback. Actually, I see it is on Amazon too, but copies from the first printing, it looks like, which was not as well edited. If this horse story interests you, ether buy the latest printing directly from Outskirts Press self publishing, or send me your email at daphneoberon@gmail.com and I will email you a free copy of the shorter, registered screenplay. Have a great day! Daphne Oberon

This busy and colorful digital painting is delightful! It reminds me a little bit of western art that was used in fabric for curtains and bedspreads in the 1950s that my little brother had in his bedroom. You've given us so much to see. If I were a first grade teacher I could build a whole teaching unit from this. Your artistic talent is very clear here!
