This is stunning. It's both ethereal and lifelike at the same time. Great use of light and shade, and I love the colours you've used. A worthy tribute to musical royalty.

Hi Artbandit thank you for sharing this awesome portrait of the very great and amazing singer of soul, Aretha Franklin. I would so love to send you 6 stars for this work of art, but sadly am unable to do so. What a wonderful tribute to a woman whose voice has been a privilege to listen to for many many years. I love the detail used to render her facial features.. Clever use of shading to convey her finer facial characteristics.. most especially around her cheeks and jaw line. the use of deeper tones has really brought out her inner soulful appearance that shines from within. Beautifully rendered with her lips slightly pursed as she so often held them. giving her a pensive and deep emotional joy. Her eyes have been nicely rendered and reflect her personality even further.. as she gazes contently at something within her vision. You have rendered her flowing hair nicely using highlighted tones to accentuate the gentle waves that hang loosely about her shoulders.. great use of blended colours to achieve a three dimensional value and great texture in her hair that so gracefully lines her face.. Love the crown placed upon her head.. a lovely inclusion and so befitting to such an icon in the music of soul. her skin tones around her neckline and chest are effective.. giving her a soft appeal in the mind's eye. I love the addition of her white clothing apparel that just sets off this beautiful portrait and helps make her beaming face pop. the pendant earings are a lovely touch and add to her appeal and beauty.. You have truly captured great likeness to a younger Aretha and through excellent pencilling, have managed to allow her inner soul to come forth in this awesome portrait. nice background tones to compliment your portrait of Aretha. Thank you for sharing such a vibrant and spirited music icon through your fantastic artwork. It has been a real joy and an absolute treasure to review Aretha Franklin in all her glory .. To the Queen of Soul.. may you rest peacefully as your music lives on in the lives of us all. cheers mel
