This is so beautiful......a gorgeous sunset with the boy and his dog silhouetted. I love how the dog is looking out to the sea and the boy as well. Gorgeous warm colors across the sky. Perfectly framed and well composed shot. Very well photographed with beautiful natural light and good details and movement in your scene. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing. Heart warming photography!

Hi Dick, This is SO CUTE! Love the way the sun shines behind the little boy and shows the profile of his face. The image makes you wonder what the these two are looking at. Love the soft tones of the hues too! Very Nice Image My Friend! :o) Helvi

There are so many possibilities to interpret this emotional capture.
I just let him walk then my doggie sat so I told him to look to where Shiagoui is facing...

Thanks for the concise & insightful review with your usual generous & inspiring rating! Thanks for the continued support...

This is perfect! The little boy looks cute even though you can't see his face. You got there in time for us to see the dog. The sky and sunset is beautiful. The photo is strait. I like the use of the little dude so much more.

The dog is patient, the boy is pensive. A perfect combo for an evening sunset.

The position of the young lad relative to the setting sun is a stroke of sublime inspiration. His neck is so small just enough sunlight leaks around his neck and makes a powerful statement.

He makes the viewer wonder what he is imagining looking so far into the distance.

What could it be that so holds his attention?

Maybe the splash of some marine creature breaking the surface, or perhaps wondering what lies beyond the horizon and maybe yet he is wondering what is waiting for him on the other side of that dark horizon?

Your skill at capturing the expressive moment is so well displayed here. I can look at this creation and see so many different ways to interpret this - Kudos to you for seeing life as it is ... B-)) Bob

    Wowwowowow!

Your interpretation is a very discerning one!
Among the many reviewers for this post, you stated the most number of possibilities/probabilities just by looking at this capture!
I guess I have to print a poster, frame it and give this to the kid as a souvenir for his raw acting moment...

Thanks Bob for this very heartwarming insights and generous rating! I'm honored & humbled.....

This looks like an award winning image. The placement and framing of the little boy with the sun behind his head is so well done. I think this is one of my favorites of yours. It has a story to tell and the title breaks your heart. Very well deserving of a 6 star rating.

Wonderful capture of the pet and the boy in a pensive mood! Or may be he has paused to take in the beauty of the sunset! The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

This is a beautifully warm picture of a boy and the dog. The boy looking out to see hopefully dreaming of better things to come. this photograph is very thought provoking and for some, emotional. Great job. Love it.

Wow! Almost all my reviewers point out that emotional impact in this capture which I was not awar of when I took this snapshot...
I just directed the boy to walk casually & I kept on clicking my iPad!

I love this image Dick but the title makes me sad.
It saddens me to know this young boy does not have much of a future but where there is life there is hope and maybe he will decide to be amazing.
Am I misinterpreting your title thoughts?
i would change the title to a boy and his dog. Better yet the world awaits you.
How about the world is yours.
A gorgeous image. Great soft color and who doesn't adore a little boy and his dog?

Wow! Yes, some friends were wondering about the sad title. And your interpretation is right. There's not much opportunity in this island when this boy finish school. He has to move to the city and leave the ever changing sunsets behind!

Thanks for the suggested titles but it has received so many reviews with that bleak title so well just leave it that way...;-))
I just want to add in the long notes: Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has courage to lose sight of the shore!

Why such a pessimistic title with such a lovely scene? Your classic composition allows us a good look at the pair of them and their lovely location. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well taken!

For I know very well there's nothing much opportunity in this island when they grow up...

this reminds me of a film I saw when I was a young wife, now I am a very old great grandma..On the Beach. You never really saw much except water, but it without a doubt was one of the most terrifying films I have ever seen, and the people in the bus the morning after all spoke of it and were shaken by it. this is a lovely picture but with the title you have reminded me of 'on the beach' the last people left after the last war were in Australia.

by last war, I don't mean WW2 I mean the last human war. This will happen in about ten generations and northern hemisphere will be wiped out. A few humans will remain in jungles.

sorry for couple of commas left out- I often do this in poetry, when I want the last line to sort of echo the next line, but rarely in writing. sosssss
