Thank you very much for your six star vote and comments Dale. I really appreciate it. While most pictures and paintings of Aphrodite depict a blond I thought that a dark, almost black hair color of a willful and independent looking woman would be more representative of a Greek goddess that possessed so much power.

Strong initial impact: Aphrodite, the Goddess of water! Is beautifully rendered , her long dark hair pushed back away from her face and falls freely at the sides, her broad forehead implies intelligence , she has well shaped brows that match the color of her hair, gorgeous green eyes that bring her to life in this painting, her nose is well shaped and formed her mouth held closed with well shaped lips and acctuntuated by the color. Face structure and shape is very well shown . The green water background showcases her in a wonderful way! Very well created and presented!

Hello Carl, this is the first time I've viewed your work as I have been away from FAR for over 2 years.
I like your use of colors and the blending of them throughout your painting. Her eyes are very life like and I enjoyed your notes about how to make the eyes appear to follow the viewer. The background reflects the idea of water very nicely.
A nonart question; have you ever worked with district judges in Eddy County through the NM Corrections dept? My husband was a district judge before he retired 12 years ago.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. I appreciate it. As to your question. I don't remember. My role with the NM Corrections Dept. was as Assistant Mental Health Bureau Chief. In that capacity I audited mental health treatment practices in all the NM prisons to ensure practice compliance according to departmental policies. I may have met Eddy County district judges through meetings, conferences or other venues.
