Railroad Tracks Long Forgotten

I really like this one. The POV is just right as the eyes follow the tracks to the far reaches of the scene. The green moss makes everything look primordial. Great framing with the tree with vines on the trunk on the right side and the two tree trunks on the left. Very well done and best of the best in the contest ~ Steve

A good entry into the Color Green Contest and a good contender and good luck. A gorgeous landscape of the abandon railway tracks and scene of varied lush greens. Your play with light and shadows gives depth and interest to your image. Good light handling and sharp focus reveals good details and clarity in your image. A good balance of tones and shapes and color. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing.

Great photo of this abandoned rail track. Seems untouched by humans for a long long time. The vegetation is reclaiming what was once part of the woods and nature. Nicely composed and good handling of light. Thanks for sharing.

    Thank you so much for the wonderful comments. It has been untouched by humans, and I've tried to keep the spot secret as much as I can, so it isn't spoiled by the onslaught of hikers wanting to see and spoil the area. Perhaps that is selfish of me, but the beauty is amazing. This bridge is hand laid with stone, and the workers built steps down to the stream using those stones. They are moss covered and have not been disturbed in an extremely long time. Thank you for taking the time to look and leave a great review! I really appreciate it! :) Jill

this is obviously a great and unusual entry to the green contest, a likely winner;
perfect framing with great lighting through the trees until the ground;
I like the green moss covering the bold rails leading the eye deep into the forest;
And most important: I like you narrative making this pic much more interesting

The perspective on this is great - I can imagine the trains on that long abandoned railroad, heading off into the distance. Good use of colour and available lighting - a fabulous entry for the contest.
