I really like the colors you used. It doesn't remind me of a whirlpool in water. Lots of movement and the inner shapes could be underwater creatures. What's wonderful about an abstract is no one sees it exactly the same way. Beautiful piece.

Yes I agree, that is one of the things I love about abstract. I also love that when we paint we are creating something that no one has ever seen before, abstract art to me is so wonderful because it is so free.

Really nice, John, especially for a first. If you didn't tell, no one would even suspect.
Excellent technique, nice balance and wonderful colors. Imparts a sense of action - looks to me like a fish swimming in circles creating a whirlpool.

I love the combination of colours you used in this lovely abstract acrylic painting, John and the way you can follow the brush strokes around through the colours. Very impressive first painting - I'm sure your Mother-in-law loves it. You can imagine it being the entrance to another world! Great composition. Suzanne

Volatile rendition with colors just blending smoothly.
Creative concept. Innovative approach. Imaginative presentation.

Outrageous outcome.
3-dimensional effect with a lot of depth caused by the vanishing viewpoint.
Diminishing perspective.
Dynamic image.

With this being your first one no wonder you are such a great artist John. This has such a unique abstract look and feel to it. It is like fluids in motion much like when a drop of oil is placed on water and begings to be moved about by the currents in the water. Really a great work and i am sure it is a treasure for your mother in law ~ Steve

An eye catching image with an apparent clockwise flow. I like your technique of drawing one color through another. A nicely composed image with great colors.

I love abstract art. Art is first created from within. We draw inspiration from our thoughts, and experiences from the five senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. Your artwork will continue this sensory experience . The eyes soak in all those colours , forms and movements. Bravo!

Was it really your first painting, John? It looks amazingly cool! !! I like it even better in horizontal position. You have a natural talent how to mix colors! I do like it very much! Please take virtual 6 stars with my compliment. I wish I had one 6 left to award this one.
