This is a nice capture of the crane's flight and their large wings. The water splashes are also well captured. I like how part of the leg is showing on the back crane and how well this shot shows how they dangle their legs and feet when getting ready to fly.

Mike,
A beautiful picture of this pair of Sandhill Cranes taking off from the lake leaving a wake of spray behind them that your fast exposure has frozen. The reflections of the trees on the far bank & the Cranes themselves making a beautiful frame the lake reflecting the sky above making a perfect backdrop. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Very nice capture of these two birds in flight. Good stop action. Perhaps a bit dark. The action in the water adds interest to the shot. Good details and color. Well seen and well anticipated.

Cool,Mike!
That's a fine looking picture,my friend!
These creatures make me think of how certain species of prehistoric Pterasaurians might have looked!

Perfect timing to capture them taking off! You even captured the splashes they left behind in the water. Excellent sharpness. Nice subdued light.

Thank you very much. There were four of them in total and I think there may be splashes from three in this shot. Only got a couple shots before they got into the reflections at the top. They are gone now but I have enough shots to post a new one every day until they get back. Glad you like this one. Thanks again.

Looks a bit like synchronized swimming with those legs sticking up. yes, I know it is a reflection, but still it made me laugh. So thank you for that, and for another wonderful avian action photo.

captured beautifully and with such sharp focusing. The composition has worked well for you as both these birds have positioned themselves nicely to portray their body forms and plumage sufficiently away from the brown reflection in the background.Im so please you didn't crop the lower foreground as you have managed to retain their reflections too

Thank you very much. I try to catch them as they are leaving but that is not always an easy thing to predict. When framing the shots I am conscious of the reflections and generally try to include them. Very glad you like this one. Thanks again.
