Nice work here Pat. The thing I especially like about this is that it appears to be in black and white yet the telltale colors in the tail, eye and shoulderf ur tell us that this is a color photo. The overall gray tones really accent the tail colors. Well done Pat ~ Steve

aww he is so adorable.
he does seem a little spooked by the dogs.

Hi Pat, I love it when squirrels tuck their arm up like that. You really captured a very cute image. Love the placement of the squirrel in the image. The BW with a touch of color is very nice too. Focus and lighting...ALWAYS perfect!
Enjoyed this tremendously! :o) Nancy

Quite a nice nature shot posted here! Your fine composition grants us an enjoyable look at your squirrel and it's location. Exposure and sharpness are good. Just wondering about the lack of colour apart from the bit of brown in the tail? Nicely done!

These little pine (red) squirrels are quite aggressive and often chase the much larger gray squirrels around my place. I think a German Shepherd is a whole other story though. Nicely cropped with fine details.

Thank you so much! I didn?t realize they turn so gray in winter, it seems like they are redder in summer. He was afraid when Kaiser stood up on the base of the tree! I called Kaiser off as soon as I took the shot, I think these are so cute!

Pat, this is cool! Another visiter? Perfectly cropped, razor blade sharp! It almost looks like a black and white photo, but the color of his tale tells is not. You were able to capture the Fine details of the squirrel, his emotions and character! Bravo Pat!!!

Pat,
A great picture of this beautiful little Squirrel with it's white ringed eyes nose, chin breast & tummy, it's brush curled up along it's back & it's right forepaw held against it's breast, every muscle tensed & ready to take it away from your "dangerous" German Shepherd if it comes any closer!!!! Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Cool,Pat!
The natural 'nervous' instinct of these little creatures undoubtably serves them as a distinct evolutionary advantage, probably in the same way that a similar penchant for nervousness helped our most ancient ancestors, the small,squirrel-like prehistoric 'Purgataurid' mammals that existed in the late Cretaceous geological time period literally 'under the feet' of the giant Dinosaurs which 'ruled the world' in those unimaginably long ago days! : D
Well,I'm getting way off the mark with my ramblings here so lemme just say that your photo of this 'jumpy' lil' animal looks Great,my friend! : )

He does seem a bit jumpy. He looks like he's checking out his heart rate there. Very cute shot you got of him - although squirrels are always cute. Really nice job, Pat.
