This guy has some awesome looking colors. I like the deep richness of the rusty brown colors that you captured. I think more space in front of the squirrel would have been appealing but then the crop ratio may have been off kilter. I also really like the shape of the branch that he is perched upon. It has some attractive textures too.

    Thank you very much. Perhaps a better composition was available but this is the whole frame. I had set out the perch next to a bird feeder and I saw this squirrel coming. He had seen this sort of thing before and knew he could jump from the perch to the feeder. I just backed off on the zoom and fired a couple shots. Glad you like this one. Thanks again.

These energetic rodents certainly are 'hungry varmints',aren't they?
Your photo of this one 'scopin' things out' makes for an interesting and enjoyable picture,Mike!

This is a good outdoor shot. The light is good. The colours are natural. Overall it has been composed well with the squirrel posing for you!:) There is clarity and sharpness. The light and shadows and the composition have worked well.

a wonderful portrait of this squirrel on a driftwood, looks like floating in the air; a good idea Indeed to put eat near the feeder to attract the squirrel;
sharp focus with nice details;

    Thank you very much. I had set this rotting bit of limb next a bird feeder and was waiting for the birds to show up when the squirrel started to approach. He had seen this sort of thing before and knew he could jump from the branch to the feeder. I was all set up for the birds and only had to back off the zoom a bit to fit him in. I am very glad you like him. Thanks again.

A nice dead branch complemented well this cute fluffy subject!
Perfect timing!
Did he really stop there for a while?!?
Exotic image with sharply focused fine features & textures.

Natural colors despite the low lit condition.
Nice bokeh backdrop.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

    Thank you very much. I had set that beat up branch near a bird feeder but before any birds showed up this squirrel, who had seen such perches before, climbed up. All I had to do was back off the zoom a bit to fit him into the frame. He must have stayed on this perch for close to a minute. Very glad you like it. Thanks again.

    Very nice perch! I love antique driftwoods for my landscaping projects! ;-)

A very nice nature shot posted here! Your fine full and central composition allows us a great look at your adventurous squirrel. His location looks quite precarious! Exposure and sharpness are good. Well taken!

wow, Mike.. one of the best looking squirrels I've seen! Much different than our squirrels here in south Florida.

nice tinges of brown throughout his otherwise gray fur.

Nicely done.
