Another great Picture of a blue-black horse, and I especially like the simplicity. I also like the feel of motion and the Limited color pallet. It is also Nice to see that you have not forgotten the shadow from the horse on the ground.

The format and framing is Perfect and the horse has got a fine placement at the top of the Picture. I have to add that I like very much the Sparkling stars in the sky.

A truly lovely and well done digital Picture Daphne.

Your unique style appears to be an attempt to boil art and creativity down to the most basic level. Your digital painting explores the simplest modes of expression: color and shape. Well done!

The elegance of the jump shows how strong this horse is. The colors of the night are beautiful. I like how the light of the moon cast a clear shadow onto the sand of the arroyo and lightens the coat of the horse with blue reflections. The star covered sky emphasizes the white mane and tail perfectly. The artwork is excellently composed and framed.

Oh thank you so much Mark! How are you doing? I have been going crazy nuts writing three screenplays and two books, lol. And, most unexpected, a writer who earns her living writing for Hollywood but lives mostly in France and Costa Rica wants my permission to collaborate on a play about my childhood for Broadway. I am very suspicious, but all seems very much in order so far. I shut down my website until the dust settles, so the links are dead, but this is some of the dark side of my past: https://www.reddit.com/r/troubledteens/comments/1cnbzh/one_of_the_weirdest_and_most_heinous_troubled/ ALSO, under a new pen name to hopefully set my fiction apart a little, here is my new website, but for some reason, so far you have to set it to the home page to begin with... http://booksbyvictoriaauberon.com/

I love the free spirit the horse shows while in the air. the shading on the horse is nicely done. you captured that the horse is the main element in the art work.

Thank you very much for your complimentary review; it was however explained to me that less than five stars suggests there is something to improve; did you have a suggestion? Daphne Oberon

Hi Daphne, my apologies I am new to fan art and not really sure how it works. I do have one area of critique but in no way mean to hurt feelings or come across rude. I think that the shadow underneath the horse needed some work. In my opinion the shadow neck area is not a good representation of the actual horse. I don't know if I am making sense since it is late and my brain is a little tired. but after a fresh look at it tomorrow and when i am more awake I will try to explain better.

okay cool! the shadow is an exact tracing of the horse, which in reality would not be an exact replica. None of my lighting is photo realistic as I sacrificed shadow-logic for accentuating contours for the sake of art and dramatization. Having grown up in the desert the topic of shadows actually always fascinated me but that is a really intriguing art -- I wonder if anyone has studied it in detail -- so many possibilities depending on the angle of the light. Like in my post, Anigmata, that weird shadow is from a photo of me on a horse in exactly that position -- you would never guess! But no, you are right, even though this shadow is an exact copy, it would never BE an exact copy! Daphne Oberon
