Fantasic entry to this contest. You have shown the history of this building as well as presented 3 wonderful images of it throughout the years and different seasons. The colors are very nice, the detail is great. Best of luck to you in the contest and thank you for explaining its history!

The history of this building is very interesting. I like seeing it with snow and then with flowers, different seasons and times. The images look good and make an attractive collage.

Eric Sloane writes about ice houses such as yours.Your round house, with shingles and cupola,is lovely and,its construction is quite substantial.Ice did not melt, and, was used to both cool and preserve.
Cordially,

Thank you for the positive review. And Thank you for the info on Eric Sloan. It's good to see some one is preserving the history of rural America.

You are welcome.I have used Sloane's books for my own research.I have done a number of what I have titled,"Agrarian American" artworks;and, his antique tools, plows, etc.,have helped me. I want to show us our"true American roots."I plan to post some of these works over the coming months.

We seem to have a bit in common. I was born and raised in Paterson, NJ and spent several years working for a local (Michigan) daily paper. I am glad to have those days of wet process black and white behind me. These are a nice collection of an interesting subject. Best of luck in the contest.

What miss about the good old days, is the dead lines, busy press room, and the roar of the press. Thank you for the positive review.

Nice history you gave on this, once, beautiful structure. I love its unique design and the landscaping that surrounds it is lovely. It would have made a nice postcard. Even a jigsaw puzzle. Thanks for sharing.

I found that not many people had any idea what this building was used for. So I added the history. Thank you for the positive review.

Interesting presentation. The angle of the shots of this building is great. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

Very interesting and very beautiful historic ice storage house , each taken at a different time, each image is well focused and clear to view, well exposed and the colors and tones are natural. This is well arranged to show the different views, well presented, best wishes to you in the contest!
