Oh I really like the open wings! This looks so neat. If this were mine I would clone out the other two heads and lighten the background and maybe a tighter crop to really emphasize the wings!

    Thank you! I do have a copy where I cloned out the other ducks but for some reason I had a soft spot for the other ducks, lol! I appreciate your suggestions and comments!

A well timed shot. The wings are perfectly positioned and the duck is shown in great detail. The exposure for the snow is excellent and the colors are beautiful

Grace,
A beautiful & interesting picture of this Mallard duck flapping her wings maybe to get the warmth of the sun to warm up the underside of her wings. Artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

this is the second time you get such an outstanding stop action Graceof a bird with stretched wings; in contrast to others I think it was a good idea to keep the two other mallard heads; it adds to the dof;
excellent sharp focus and control of exposure for the snow;

    Thank you very much Fred for the six stars and your nice comments! I appreciate your thoughts about the other ducks too. I thought about taking the other ducks out but I didn't want to mess up the shot. Bad enough that she's behind a snow drift!

This is great, I love the angle of the shot. The action of the wings being captured is awesome. You get to see the detail here in its glory and the lighting is nicely done. Wonderful work

You are too much! It's your Quirky side that I know kept those other two ladies in the shot. It's my nature to tidy things up and crop/clone them out. I love to get ducks when they flap their wings like this because they do remind me of angel wings.
Great capture and fine stop action.
Only you get the most unique poses of birds and now ducks.
Great shot Greenie!!

    You are right! I could have cloned them out to bring the focus strictly on the wings, but I didn't have the heart to remove those other cuties :) Thanks Sange. I know you get me!

Wow...you got some great shots today of these beautiful mallards. I'm not sure if this gal is showing off for that Drake you posted...or if she's just showing off. It does indeed look like she has angel wings. That is amazing. I love this. She needs a halo
