Your wife was very lucky to get these beautiful roses from you, and I especially like the little droplets you have added. The background is a bit busy, but the rose is still standing out well. If you don't want to take a flower out of the bouquet, a tips is to put a piece of paper behind it before you take the photograph.
The photo is however nice and sharp showing such clear and well defined details, and the exposure is very good.
The tight cropping has worked well, and the rose has got a fine placement within the frame. I think this is a lovely and well taken photo with a good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

The water droplets all over this rose are very nice. The sharpness makes them really stand out and I like the light they are reflecting. The rose is nice too with an almost velvety looking texture.
