This is a lovely pose and capture. I like how well the brown of the eye stands out with this angle. The markings on the feathers look good and the colors are bright and natural.

A gorgeous shot of the Woodpecker on the branch. Since the eye is so sharp just draws us right into your photography. I like the angle of the branch and the contrast it adds to this winter scene. Beautiful lighting, sharp focus and incredible details on the gorgeous female bird. I love this along with the informative artists notes. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing.

Thought I had rated this, guess not. Lovely capture of the woodpecker checking out the tree for a nibble. I like the way the limb curves across the bottom corner adding an interest point. The bird is beautifully captured. Sharp detail, good colors. The background creates a good base for the shot. Well done.

Just beautiful Mike.

Your colors and the way this one is presented is excellent.

Great clarity and I love the little bit of red on his head :)

Mike a beautiful picture of this female red bellied Woodpecker examining the dead branch it's perched on with one eye watching you closely. The pale sky making the perfect backdrop. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Your focus was spot-on. The Woodpecker shows especial sharp and excellent defined detail and the specific coloring, which clearly identified the bird as a female. The pose and placement on the rounded branch are intriguing . The shallow background emphasizes the bird. The photo is well balanced and framed.

Thank you very much. I liked this branch with the hole in it and started putting suet in the hole. It did not take long for the woodpeckers to find it. Very glad you like this one. Thanks again.

    You're most welcome! :o)
This is a very good trick to attract Woodpeckiers. It might work for other birds too. :o)
