This appears to be a never ending enmity. Wonder who is at fault!You appear to be catching the action so well. Great timing. I can almost hear the ruckus they are creating! Thanks for sharing!

Fred,
A beautiful stop action photo of the furious Mute swan charging over the water at the Canada goose leave a wake of spray behind him that your fast exposure has frozen. the reflections on the water are an added bonus. Beautiful stop action composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Very funny after reading your notes and looking at the photo again. I can imagine the swan, gliding along the water, in a typical sophisticated swan way and this Canadian goose who clearly took a wrong turn somewhere began with his loud honking. The quiet swan had heard enough and decided to chase that Northerner out of her pond where she WAS enjoying her calm day. I can see her nipping at his tail, and he's still honking as he makes his getaway. I hear those geese as they fly over head. A loud bunch. A great shot and perfect detail without blur in this action shot. A great story telling photo.

This is a great action shot! I really like how you framed it to include the splashing water behind the swan. The goose must be persistent if the chasing went on all day - or maybe he just enjoyed it! Nice shot.

    thanks a lot David
    the chasing started about 3 years ago;
    we had more than 100 Canada geese at that time: impossible to approach the take without walking in their shit;
    now, thanks to the swan, the are just a dozen

Yes, it does seem as if that swan is very intent on inflicting serious injury on the goose! Your very appropriate composition captures a very dramatic moment in the action. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done!
