A pretty good entry into the competition posted here! Your fine, full and central composition allows us an enjoyable look at your sample of ginger. Wonder what the background material is? Like the knobbly appearance of your ginger. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

Lovely detail and texture shines through here. The close up of the ginger brings a different viewpoint and lighting helps to portray this. Great work and thanks for sharing

The rhizome is well focused, showing refined detail and textures. The colors are realistic. The background emphasizes the rhizome nicely. I personally think the framing is to tight. If your program allows it you could add some space at the left and above. I believe that would emphasize the unusual shape. Ginger rhizomes have indeed strange shapes. Parts of them often seem to resemble fantastic creatures. Best luck for the contest.

There is nothing like fresh ginger in a recipe. Although I always have some on hand it never occurred to me to take a photo of it. A very nice shot with fine detail and great color.

Since living in London in Upton Park during 1991 and 1999, which has an 80% +Asian community, the rest a big mix of African, West Indian and then a few others, like me, I have used ginger in my cooking having seen it at The Queen's Market, which I loved to browse as my Saturday afternoon activity and found all manner of interesting things there, and I too love its shapes. So many vegetables are so paintable. However, I do not use it enough for my son who is a Hari Krishna devotee, and makes ginger drinks constantly./Vegetarians/ When ever I had a bad cold, my Somalian pupils parents used to buy me huge bags of Somalian Ginger tea and ordered me to drink it for some days.

Thanks so very much for your time and the fine review! I really appreciate it! Every morning, on an empty stomach I have half teaspoon of finely chopped ginger (stored in fridge with a dash of lemon juice) and have it in warm water with a squeeze of lemon and a teaspoonful of pure honey. This is one of the most effective detox . I have my first cup of coffee after 30 mins! Try it out and feel the difference in your health condition!

exactly what Joe does, sorry Krishna Jaya, only they drink it all the while as they do not touch anything caffeine /not just he, they are a very close group supporting each other/
