Hi Willie, You're right about this dog being cute! To have such a playful dog has got to be a lot of fun! Your playful dog Scrappy definitely looks happy in this shot and you conveyed that beautifully. Great lighting and focus, but what's really special is the moment you caught! I think this will do quite well in the dog and cat contest!

Scrappy looks so cute with the red ball in his mouth, and the ball looks like it has been well used. I especially like the fine shine you have captured in his face and the begging expression. I also like how you have gone in close and personal.
The photo is of course also nice and sharp showing such clear and well defined details, and the exposure is very good.
The tight cropping works well, and Scrappy has got a fine placement within the frame. I think this is a truly cute and well taken photo Willie, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.
