This is a very interesting shot. I love the red tones. I would be very curious to know what the white substance on the left would be. The hazy steams is great, really like how the trees seem to peek through it. Once job

Thank you very much Jody Kay. I am so glad you liked this scene. The white in the left corner that you mentioned is actually snow. It had snowed several hours before I took this photo. In the upper right corner way in the back you can see some snow between the trees on the hill. Thank you once again. Steve

Hey Steve! This is really well captured and presented. Nature is pretty amazing, it's hard to imagine anything living in this environment let's just hope the volcano doesn't go anytime soon haha! Great work.

Thanks a lot Brady for your review. Yes Yellowstone is one Big caldera and will eventually blow (in another 100 - 200 Thousand years. I think we will just miss the Big Blast ; )

Your photo truly displays a "wonder". Your words were very helpful in explaining the colors and diversity in the landscape. It does feel and look a bit out of this world which makes it creative and even more interesting. It shows excellent camera techniques and a "good eye".

Thank you very much MJ for your cool review and commentary. I grew up 90 miles from the park and have been there more times than I can count. One of my favorite places in the world. BTW, I am heading to Yellowstone this Wednesday in conjunction with a high school reunion. I will spend 4 days in the park. Hopefully I will get some shots worth posting here. You certainly captured this exceptional strange area of unusual nature very well indeed. The mist is there without losing clarity, the crispness of the water area and the organism colours are contrasted. It has a wow impression that relates to the thought of these places existing. Your notes to are well written and interesting.

Yes, its a great and strange place, as your fine photo so aptly demonstrates. I was there back in 2014. Found it fascinating. Your lovely image is well composed, sharp and has good exposure. Nicely done!
