I did not know that you are doing art as well Lise, but this indeed looks great. I especially like the limited color pallet where red is the dominant color, and the Poppies are really standing out well.
I also like the fine textures showing in the background, and the whites you have added to the bouquet. This is done paying very good attention to details, but still giving the painting a whimsical look.
The format and framing is perfect, and I like the diagonal placement of the bouquet on the canvas. I think this is a truly lovely and well done acrylic painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.

thank you very much, yes my mom painted really well, she loved all the mediums of paint, her house was an art gallery, lol, my daughters all do art as well mostly for fun, you really cant make a living with this these days, there are too many our there, I enjoy it as it really relaxes me and since Ive retired this fall I have more time now lol

This is a pleasing composition of the Poppies.
There is so much history to the flower.
They are symbolic of remembrance of veterans
inspired by the poem, In Flanders Field.
The Poppies here are a brilliant red with good detail.
There is an energy with the brush strokes and is well done. The focus and clarity are good.
