The flower, locally known as the yellow tropical orchid, is elegant, with waxy petals and intricate patterns. I shot this some time ago during my visit to a local flower show.
A tiny insect, delicate as a whisper, rests upon the golden petals of the orchid, almost as if it has paused to admire the flowerÂ’s vivid red and gold beauty. In that still and silent moment, the bug and the bloom seem to share a quiet secret, held tenderly beneath the soft morning light.
Camera: Canon SX130IS. Image trimmed and resized to FAR requirements with minor light and sharpness adjustments.
