At art college, we learnt of NO theatre. But listening to a lecture is nothing like the real thing. We were a group of friends at Sheffield Psalter Lane art college, a real character, Edward our art literature lecturer; Steve a literature student; Ann, Sheffield's most well known art model and little me with my young sons /often pictured in paintings/. Sadly, as invariably happens, the group split up in time and Steve and I ended up in London /where I should have stayed but for family necessity/ anyway Steve and I got together again, and one day he told me he had two tickets to Japanese Embassy for a NO theatre. I had not expected anything like it, though we stood round in crowds, no comfy seats, I was absolutely mesmerised, it was amazing. I followed each breath- I was just blown away by it and will be for ever grateful to the Japanese Embassy for putting it on, so I had the chance to experience it for myself..
