All this talk about Christians on the site makes me sad.
I never have to claim I am one beacause of how I live my life, how I choose to help others, give my time, share my gifts....and ALWAYS telling the truth in my reviews. If your shot is blurry... I will not say, Excellent focus, or make excuses for your soft focus.
Speak the truth in love.... anyone who knows me here knows I ALWAYS breathe life into them with the words I choose. Stop proclaiming to be a Christian... ACT LIKE ONE BY telling the TRUTH in your reviews. Being a Christian, by the way only means one who follows Christs teachings.
None of us walk on water and we all at the end of the day need to FALL INTO THE PILLOW OF GRACE.

    Skyangel02: No lighthouse needs to claim to be one since they are what they are. Whether they attract attention or not depends on whether the light is on or off. If it is on they don't need to tell anyone it is on or how bright it is because all can see it without the lighthouse bragging about how much it shines.

    Turning on the light is the same as firing a cannon when it creates a light in a place which once had no light.

    No one needs to be labelled as anything in order to speak the truth and many who are honest are rejected and hated because their light is far too bright and hurts those who look at it.

    Most seem to prefer dimly lit lighthouses which don't create too much illumination in case some are blinded and hurt by it.

    The sad thing is so many people reject others on this site regardless of what they label themselves.

    Those who do brag about their Christianity and then go ahead and reject other people by muting them or telling them they are not welcome to reply to them or other such things are not practicing the Christianity they preach. They are practicing rejection not acceptance.

    Christianity is supposed to be all about love, forgiveness and acceptance is it not? Those who claim to live by that principle and then turn around and reject people by muting them or making them feel unwelcome to communicate with them are hypocrites in my perception.

    Anyone who does not practice what they preach is a hypocrite regardless of the labels they wear or don't wear.

    That is my general belief and directed at no one personally and not intended to offend but if the cap fits please feel free to wear it. If the fit offends you it is not the fault of the person who sold you the cap. Offense is a reaction of the person who has a guilty conscience.

    By the way Sange, you are wrong that none can walk on water. I can walk on water and keep my head above it at all times regardless of the depth. ;-)

    Mollie213: Sange, I do agree with what you are saying. I have been guilty when I first joined FAR of giving too many high ratings because I did not want any retaliation. Another friend of mine on here was doing the same thing. We decided to stop all this nonsense.
    Cutting a bird photo off at the neck is not a five. Blurred photo is not a five. A wilted flower is normally not a five. Seeing the bottom end of a bird is not a five. I joined FAR to grow, and one cannot grow if all they get is praise. So I encourage everyone to be honest in their reviews. Now for the other side of the coin. You may not like what I photographed, but if it is good, it does not deserve a two or three. Give constructive criticizm, always well seasoned. Don't be ugly, I get that all day long where I work. I don't need it here. Don't praise my work to the top of the world and then give me a low rating. Some of you on here seem to delight in picking photos to pieces, giving low ratings and think you have reviewed. You HAVE NOT reviewed unless you help the photographer know how to correct the errors you see. Be fair. Be honest. But still be my friend.

Sange: Just because an artist promotes their work on the front page we Real and true photographers and Artists do NOT have to LIE and tell them their work has amazing clarity to get the coin! Since the new year, I have read one lie after another about clear macro shots or bird shots! What? When we praise an artist or photographer for poor work, we create ego monsters that think because they are in the top 10..they have earned it. Ok.. well I guess I need blurry glasses cause I see no clarity here...and this is why the Real talent leaves here!

    It just deems the site utterly pointless.

    The profile thoughts used to be a real hub for fun, help & banter....nowadays it doesnt catch my attention one bit.

    Its a shame....what Tom created here was all in good faith...a place for artists to share & learn....but this has turned.

    or the guys the continiousley comment with the auto click 5 & praise regardless of quality......All your doing is ruining someones elses hard work.

    Skyangel02: This site is what WE make it. If WE do not help to improve it who will? Should WE all let someone else do it and come back once it is up to the standard WE want it to be or should WE all do our small part to help improve it and educate the newbies about how to review etc? Giving up on it helps no one.
    If all the BEST leave there will be no one left to teach the amateurs. It takes a TEAM of determined faithful people to change things. No one can do it alone.

    chickadee: Its a sad time when finally someone notices the lack of pizazz for lack of a better word, not to mention what is being taught by members is not used to better your talents as a photographer. Many are fighting to get to the top with unworthy images and artwork. Whats the deal when you think just because you are in the top 5 you are worthy of the award at the end of the year? I say sad as it may be money buys just about everything here! Pity the real talent is ignored and just the front page continues to keep those at the top with the dollars they earn reviewing said images and artwork. How to improve Sky, give those credit where credit is due. Its pay if forward day here and we could do our part to promote the work worthy of promoting. Many wonderful and talented photographers and artists are left behind where they truly do not belong.
    As for the Newbies, should be a criteria when you join the site you should know the rules. I have many times mentioned to the newbies about the rules and most continue to ignore the rules and play by their own. Gets tiring and spells ignorance or possibly illiteracy?
    Am leaving the site shortly and though for the most part met many wonderful people, have to say most have left. Hmmmm wonder why?? Could it be for the same reasons Sange stated?? There is too many I's in this team here! Enough said ,it will take more than a few people stating there needs to be change to actually see some changes where they are sorely needed!

    eileen0204: I cannot and will not give a mark or comment at all if the work is really bad. Some I try to point in the right direction. I have my favorites, as we all do, who try very hard and do a great job. Those I will follow and continue to sing their praise. But Sange, Echo, Chickadee, all excellent at what they do. All are leaving because of this mess. I like FAR and have met wonderful, very caring people. I don't want to leave, but will if I feel my talents truly deserve better. Thanks Sange for all you have done and I know will continue to do for me. We are now friends and luckily live close by.

    michaelsm55: I sure some of you know me from about six months ago when I was last at this site. I made some great friends here but, I felt like I wasn't learning anything to help my "art"
    I can"t blame the "newbiess" because lets face it its not their fault really. They have no idea what to look for. You say texture to them they have no idea what texture is.
    What I think is needed is a way to teach them the art of reviewing before they are allowed to review here at this site. I was one of those people myself.
    So I left to took some online training courses online which helped me alot. Learned what things to look for. How to compose an image and many other things about "capturing the light." Now that I am back people tell me that I am a pretty good reviewing. I am not sure though if that relates to the system I use or not. I did have a problem with ain the top ten photographer though because I gave them a 4 1/2 for their lighting. Didn't sit very well because they took me how everything so nice and good and gave me a 3. No worries it doesn't count. did the same back and changed it later to what I thought their work was worth.They wrote back and everything is good now.

    So my friends please if you feel I am not being honest with you let me know.

Sange: To all those who think they earned their ranking or Plus sign here at Far. We that eat humble pie do not check to see if we have a plus sign.What does it get you having a plus sign? Do you think you earned it? How many have you helped here? Gave your time teaching? How many people did you use your own coin on to promote? How many hours did you spend on the phone helping a fellow far person out? If the answer to all my questions is No...... then I see no plus about you. This is a learning site. Not a self promoting "I am The Master" site! Each one reach one... each one teach one... I and many others I know have helped others here on this site to improve. They also used their own money to promote my work, as I have since paid it forward. Perhaps since the Holiday season is now upon us, maybe we should all try some giving and receiving instead of bullying and taking. Relax.... You will find many great people here willing to help.     eileen0204: When I first started here, I was concerned in showing my side of a photo. I thought " what if they don't like it?" I found that most all were willing to help and allow a person to grow in their own way. Some will kick in some sort of negs but all have been helpful to me in way or another. Sange, you offered of yourself when my computer crashed. For that I am very grateful. This group has great moments that shine brightly and am proud to know you all. You keep my photos going.
