Circle into Square
The topic for this general photography contest is: CIRCLE INTO SQUARE .....find a round object and place it into a perfect square format.
The square format has everything to do with balance and composition. If you look at a photograph taken with a 35 mm camera your eyes move from side to side (landscape) or up and down (with a portrait format). Our eyes move along the longest length of the rectangle. BUT when you square an image what happens is our eyes tend to move around in a circle because the sides are equidistant....so the dynamics of how a photograph is viewed has been changed. Generally the composition is much more simple in square format. That grid rule (rule of three) does not apply. Feel free to place your point of interest dead center or to the side...let your artistic angel (sitting there on your shoulder) guide you. ....change it to monochrome, tint it. Play with your photo and have fun.
Submit a photograph that somehow incorporates the topic. The photograph should clearly be about the topic. Edits of photos are permitted. Creative approaches are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
No digital art or traditional artwork should be submitted.
