I don't know even doubt this is my best photo of September but it is the most meaningful.
Wile Ike is battering the Golf Coast and all our thoughts and prayers go out to everybody in its pas and we are thankful that the Yucatan was spared this time I want to remind of the gloriousity, the beauty and the fury of nature.
The photo was taken on September 9th wile Ike was ravaging Havana, Cuba. The hurricane never touched the Yucatan or left significant damage our weather was ruled by the storm for the last seven days. Still today the coastline is pounded by to 8 feet high waves in the Cancun-Cozumel area. The storm also brought unusual and beautiful skies.
It was just before sunrise as this clouds and colors accrued and I was reminded of the old religions and legends were the Roman God Helios and the German God Donar crossing the sky in wagons pulled by beautiful horses and were Ghost Riders are in the clouds.
I used my handhold Sony-Cyber DSC-H9 with mostly automatic setting but color and exposure adjustments. The settings are not ideal since the light changed rapidly. There is graininess in the picture but I decided not to adjust it with a program to save the unique colors of the sky.
