Did you ever ask yourself what is just below the waterline? Anyway I tried to catch it. Don't ask how many pictures I took until something halfway satisfying came out. It isn't that easy as it looks. The wave has to be caught just the moment before it went over and crashes down. The light need to be just right to make the water is transparent. [The picture was taken at 4:40 pm] Most the time is too much sand in the waves what makes the water non transparent. If anybody wants to try it; be aware of the danger: The wave could very easy catch or splash the camera since a low angle is necessary.
To catch the wave just right to show the "Above and Below" was one thing but now I needed something in both locations to make it interesting. There is the seaweed in the wave with the sand below them and above the waterline I was just very lucky. The ship showed up just in time.
I used Digital Image Suite 2006 to adjust the contrast and saturation of the sky. The ocean part is left in its original. Some cropping was also done. I'm not completely sure if that counts as Mixed Media so I put it in this group just in case.

Camera Sony DSC-H9 handhold
Focal length 13mm
F# F/5.6
Exposure 1/320 sec.
ISO 100
Shutter Priority

Please don't tell me that I should have used a tripod. It is not possible. For this photo I had to be very near the water in incoming tide. The camera about a food above ground level and ready to be lifted up soon the wave falls over. But otherwise any suggestions are welcome.
