This is one of the illustration to The adventures of Spot a childrens book I am working on. The chapters are connected short stories featuring the adventures of Spot, a puppy of mixed bread, his human family and his animal friends.
In the chapter Lost in the Forest Spot follows a Butterfly and end up in a forest far away from home. Spot has a good time meeting several new friends until the sun went down. As his new friends went home Spot discovered that he was lost. It gets dark and cold. Everything looks so different now. Spot doesn't know where to go. He lays down shivering, cold and frightened. Midnight, a black cat, and her daughter Noire find him. The Mama-cat has pity with the pup and takes him under her care. The next morning all three of them take off to find Spots home. They will find it, much to the relief of spots humans. The two cats will get adopted by Spots thankful family. The story of the cats is filling another chapter of the book.
The picture was painted on blank digital Canvas in ArtRage 3.0.5 using digital oil and watercolor brushes and the palette knife.
