Ice formation to snowflake

A chapter in the book Nature's Jewels

Winter Jewel

The image of the snowflake was originally a picture of frozen ice formations caused from the splashing waters of a winter brook. I traced a pretty section of the picture and swirled it in the kaleidoscope filter. When I got a shape I liked I swirled it again....then again. The snowflake was then placed in the accented edges filter to bring out the delicate chisled look. A daek blue background was created for the nightime sky and white film grain was added for distant snowflakes. A gold colored chandelier was used for the filigree encircling the flake and then touched with diffused glow to give it a frosty appearance. ( at least that is what I was trying to accomplish, LOL) I hope you enjoy this Thanks so much for stopping by :o) Helvi
