The crucifixion of Christ

For Our Sins

I thought I'd post something for Good Friday. My crucifixion of Chirst was created from a granite statue that I took a picture of in a cemetary.I gave it a softer look by adding colored transparencies over it. I created new facial features (mouth and eyes over the grey. The body and face were given flesh hues. I actually cut the statue in sections to work on it. The same was done to the cross.

The cross was given a new hue and had gradual transparency added. The background was chosen because of the ray of light breaking through the clouds. I picture it as God's loving hand reaching to His Son. There is darkness and sorrow within this image plus the forgiving light of Both God and His Son.

Our thanks to Him for taking our sins with him on the day of his death,is to remember Him today, on Good Friday.

I hope you enjoy! :o)
Thanks SO much for stopping by, Helvi
