The Masks

Good and Evil Contest Entry
That is about the hardest challenge I had so far. It starts with even the question what is good and evil, and how we identify it. It is not as easy as it seems. Good may is hidden in a body like the Hunchback of Notre Dame and evil looks like a beauty queen. I know what is good and evil to me and that one does not exist without the other in the human world. It is on us to find out what good and evil is. We are a mix of both. It is on us, what side will win. We have to find out who is good and who is evil. We have to break the masks; especially our own. I have on picture, but I am sure I am not done with the theme; not in my thoughts, not in my work. The picture started out with two photos; a capture of a multiple mirror reflection and the portrait of a boy. To him and his grandmother and his parents my gratitude for the permission to use the photo. The masks, cut from several of my paintings were merged into the mirror photo. The portrait of the boy was added. The final touch was given with paint brushes. I have switched between my programs more than I could count.
