Pixie is one of the names for mythical creatures originating from the moorlands around Devon and Cornwall. Until the entered modern fiction their stories were local to Britain. In modern times they are often predicted as fairy like nature spirits with pointed ears and have been related to Puck and the helpers of Santa Claus. They are basically good hearted, music and fun loving and friendly; but sometimes mischievous. It is said the help lovers and play with children as well as misleading travelers and tangle the manes of horses. There are male and female pixies. Their Queen is Joan the Wad, bringer of good luck.
