The Florida panther, FloridaĆ¢??s state animal, is one of the most endangered mammals on earth. It is tawny brown on the back and pale gray underneath. The Florida panther is one of 30 Puma concolor subspecies known by many names Ć¢?? puma, cougar, mountain lion, painter, catamount and panther. This big cat was photographed at Flamingo Gardens in South Florida. They have two in a glass enclosed area. It was very hot this day and they did not want to move much at all. Shot with Nikon D7000 1/20s; Focal Lenth 300mm; f/8.0; ISO 800 Cropping and some agressive contrast adjustment due to glass enclosure.
