The Tuatha de Danann is a race of supernatural, very important people of Celtic Mythology and Folklore. The name is in translated as The Children of Dana, The people of Dana or the People of the god whose mother is Dana. According to The Book of Invasions, a 12-century manuscript in which history and myth mix They traveled to Ireland from Greek around 2000 BC. They were God-Kings and Queens who possessed great gifts of magic and druidism, who ruled Erin [Ireland] for several centuries until they were defeat by the Melesians. According to Irish folkloric, they went to the Fairy Realms [aka Otherworld] were they shrunk in size to become to be what is known as the Wee Folk [Little People] in modern folklore. They are keepers of four magical Treasures, the Cauldron of Dagda, the Spear of Lug, the Stone of Fal and the Sword of Light of Nuada.
